About the Event
The eighth edition of Romanian Design Week proposes the theme: CHANGE. Romanian Design Week 2020 therefore aims to investigate the processes and contexts that generate CHANGE, to question the role of design in a circular economy, to present innovative projects, materials and processes, which find new ways to approach design and which add a filter socially their effort, find sustainable solutions to the problems addressed or simply choose a completely new way to solve a challenge of today's society.
We propose a collateral event that brings together artists and local communities to engage in fun, experimental and highly interactive co-creation sessions. Hosted by Nod Makerspace, the biggest co-working and makers space in Romania and ideated by the WeAr Design team, the events will take place on 12 and 13 September (time: 10-13 and 16-20). During these sessions participants will have the opportunity to visit the Makerspace and meet selected artists (Dana Tanase, Ruxandra Lupu, ....), talk about their work and engage in brief exercises of co-creation with one of these artists. These sessions use playfulness and dialogue as a way of sparking interaction between artist and audience and give rise to unique sketches and graphic designs that mirror both the artist style and the audience's personality. People will be able to engage in a one-of-a-kind experience and bring also something unique with them back home.
